Distinguished Lecture Series
Professor Jack Cole initiated the Distinguished Lecture Series (DLS) in 1969 with a view to exposing students and other interested parties to leading edge topics in Computer Science. You can find more information on the DLS and its origins here.
This year’s DLS details are as follows.
We are delighted to welcome Professor Gordon Blair of Lancaster University to St Andrews for our first in-person DLS since the pandemic. He will be delivering three 1-hour talks on Tuesday 14 March (i.e., the Tuesday of Week 8). The talks start at 12:00 in the Booth Lecture Theatre, Medicine.
Attendance is compulsory and will be monitored for the following student groups:
- BSc Computer Science (4th level – final year) – not joint honours programmes
- MSci Computer Science (5th level – final year) – not joint honours programmes
- MSc Computer Science
- MSc Artificial Intelligence
- MSc Human Computer Interaction
- MSc Software Engineering
Undergraduate students from first, second, third year, and fourth year MSci, those on joint programmes and PGT students on programmes not listed above are welcome to attend the lectures if there is no clash with any of their regular classes.
The following classes that clash with the DLS will be cancelled on Tuesday 14th March:
- CS3106 (1pm)
- CS4102 (4pm)
- CS5031 (11-2pm)
- CS5033 (2pm)
- CS5011 (3pm)
- CS5014 (5pm)
