ID1005: IT in the Organisation

Aims
The aims of this module are:
- To develop an understanding of various important factors in the adoption and usage of information and communications technologies in organisations.
Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of this module, the student should:
- Understand the role of cloud computing as an IT provisioning model for organisations, including motivations and drivers for adoption.
- Be familiar with of a variety of cloud computing service models and technologies.
- Understand the importance of responsive web for organisations.
- Be familiar with key technologies and design considerations for responsive web.
- Understand how IT can support the information needs of an organisation, including capturing, storing and manipulating data, and how data can be used to support decision making processes.
- Understand the benefits and potential issues of social media for businesses and organisations.
- Be familiar with techniques and tools for social media management.
